Michael Almodova Design provides Home Product Design and Ideation*.

During Michael’s studies of Product Design at Stanford University, he gained high end retail sales and practical management experience in Palo Alto and Costa Mesa, California.

Michael began his career at Gap HQ, where he developed a modern retail architecture design aesthetic for shopping centers and flagship locations in the US, Europe, and Asia.

After 15 years of architecture, furniture design and visual display, Michael transitioned to Director of Furniture and Lighting for Pottery Barn Kids; presenting design direction, developing products and ensuring production in Asia to drive sales in retail, catalog and web channels.

Michael joined Restoration Hardware as Design Director during the brand turnaround and subsequent IPO offering: designing Lighting, Decor and Outdoor Accessories, and partnering with high end designers, overseas factories and internal business partners.

Recently, Michael was Senior Design Director at Arhaus Furniture, creating Furniture, Lighting and Decor.

Michael’s design aesthetic is a juxtaposition of modern and traditional, with touches of refined industrial and balanced proportions. He has years of Furniture design experience and has developed a particular strength in Lighting design during his tenure at Restoration Hardware.

Michael partners with retail brands, other designers and manufacturers to concept, direct and create products that resonate with their customers and drive sales.

* Ideation is the creative process of generating, developing, and communicating new ideas, where an idea is understood as a basic element of thought that can be either visual, concrete, or abstract.[1] Ideation comprises all stages of a thought cycle, from innovation, to development, to actualization.[2] As such, it is an essential part of the design process, both in education and practice.
